Veterinarian
An area local, Dr. Karis Quandt-Walle grew up in Appleton before attending the University of Wisconsin, Madison for her undergraduate degree. During that time, she worked as a surgical technician at the vet school. She then attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2021.
While in school, she spent her elective classes on exotic animal, zoo, and surgical-focused courses. In addition, Dr. QW was heavily involved in the wildlife medical clinic, working especially with birds of prey. This fueled her interests in exotic and avian medicine, and after graduating, she was eager to return to her homeland with her new skills. She joined Gentle Vet in 2021, and enjoys working with all types of animals, in addition to seeing wildlife cases at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Quandt-Walle can be found running, bird watching, attending rock shows, and exploring the great outdoors. She currently lives in Green Bay with her cat, Bo.
